So, after my last post I actually had 340 miles to go. The last 200 were pretty rough. It was just long and I was getting really tired. And then I ran into some nasty weather. I seemed to miraculously escape the worst of it though. But, it did rain and snow on me. Plus the wind was really really strong. At one point there was a
Crossing into Utah was really cool and beautiful. Lots and lots of gorgeous mountains and colors. The sun came out for a bit and it was incredible. Then going over more mountains, we got slammed with snow. Finally I landed in Salt Lake City. It was a bit of culture shock being in a big city with lots and lots of cars merging from all over. Dorothy and I were freaking a bit. She especially when I didn't get off at the exit we had decided on. I changed my mind and kept going a bit on 80 to get out of the city. It turned out OK because I found this little hotel for half the price of last nights. I have wireless, my food suitcase and my flask
Tomorrow it's Reno and then Miriam in Berkeley. This trip is going by really quickly.

Wow - the trip sounds amazing! The scenery you've seen, the people you've come across - nothing but driving can set that up so nicely. I'm glad you're having such a great time. It's nice to have some "I feel alive time", eh? Soon you'll be home though! And then it gets even better :-)
The trip sounds like it's going just as it should and I'm so glad for you :) And I love your descriptions - puts me right back to when I was little and we'd drive from Iowa to Montana and then Montana to Washington. THE BEST!

this is so inspiring! i've driven west as far as colorado but never beyond...it's definitely a trip i want to do sometime. your office looks so sad and lonely here. we miss you!
